Most of my traffic comes from posting on a reular basis.

Most of my income comes from testing affiliate networks and using ads that match the content.

Great idea, I recently ran a contest on my Wordpress theme customizing blog to give out a free redesign, I ended up getting about 40 links back and only had to invest time to do the actual redesign.

That contest also produced a few clients that entered but didn't win.

How do you go about running a contest? Do you just make up your own rules? I've seen some interesting ideas like having a video drawing of names out of a hat. Any other good/less silly ideas. By the way, there is going to be another conference about making money with blogging in November, PostieCon. Don't know where you are located but i'm thinking of heading to Vegas to check it out.

That's a very good idea. I would like to also mention that your not just limited to physicle objects to give away, but you can also give away electronical things such as e-books. These are even cheaper because you don't have to pay the shipping and handeling prices. Also you can get some e-books with master resale rights for free.

Hmm..but, i think contest aren't working for first time visitor. They don't come to the blog because the contest, right? From my point of view, constest only working for subscribers only. But, dunno if anyone else can.

Thats a really good idea, even just for link building. There are plenty of affordable but desired items out there, if you know your readership well enough you should have no problem picking out a good item.

Animals behave in the same way. My dog is not going to sit when I order her to sit unless she knows in advance I will give her some food. Offering incentives is always a good way to reach your goals.

I think I'll go with giving limited offers. Like for example, by giving freebies. This is like a bargain for the costumers.
